屈原与湘学都受到儒家文化的影响和熏陶,但又秉承了湖湘区域文化的传统,形成了与其它地区不同的精神气质。两者之间的天然联系使得湘学学人更能对屈子爱国精神的内涵和情怀产生共鸣,并形成了宋以后的中国历史中蔚为壮观的湘人抗击外敌、治国安邦、投身革命的历史现象。
