Brief Discussion of Ancient Documentary Records of the Fifteen Collaterals

十五络脉在《难经》和《灵枢经》(以下简称《灵枢》中均有记载,但其组成却有不同。《灵枢》将任脉、督脉之络归属于十五络脉;《难经》将阴跷、阳跷之络归属于十五络脉,历代医家关于十五络理论的论述均遵循以上两方面。

There are records of the fifteen collaterals in The Classic of Difficult Issues and The Spiritual Pivot, but the composition of them was different in the two classics. In The Spiritual Pivot, the collaterals of conception vessel and governor vessel are clas- sified into the fifteen collaterals. In The Classic of Difficult Issues, the collaterals of yin heel and yang heel are classified into the fifteen collaterals. The discussions on the fifteen collaterals by doctors of generations all conform to the above classifications.
