The Effect of Chinese Herbal Medicine on Natural Killer Cells

自然杀伤(natural killer,NK)细胞是人体天然免疫系统的重要组成,在抵御人类免疫缺陷病毒感染过程中发挥着提前预警的作用。NK细胞表面的抑制性受体和活化性受体之间的动态平衡能够保证NK细胞免疫功能的正常。人类免疫缺陷病毒感染后,随着疾病的发展,这种动态平衡被打破,NK细胞的功能出现紊乱,其分泌细胞因子尤其是干扰素-γ的能力下降,杀伤作用减弱。一些中草药在改善免疫功能方面发挥着积极的作用,中草药的提取物对NK细胞功能的影响已成为近年来研究的热点。目前关于大多数中草药对NK细胞数量及活性影响的研究比较有限。进一步探讨中药复方对NK细胞活性的影响,将会促进中医药抵御艾滋病有关免疫基础方面的研究,为中医药治疗艾滋病提供证据。

Natural killer（ NK） cell is one of the important parts in human immune system,playing an warning role in fighting against HIV infection. The dynamic balance of inhibitory receptors and activated receptors on the surface of NK cell can ensure normal immune function. After HIV infection,with the development of the disease,this kind of dynamic balance is broken,and then the function of NK cells become in disorder,with its epithelial cytokine especially IFN-gamma diminished as well as lethal effect weakened. Some Chinese herbal medicine played a positive role in improving immune function. The effect of herbal extracts on NK cell function has become a research focus in recent years. At present,researches on the influence of the activity and NK cell number of Chinese herbal medicine are limited,there fore,study on the effect of traditional Chinese medicine compound on NK cell activity will increase the immune basis knowledge of Chinese medicine functioning against AIDS to provide more evidences in traditional Chinese medicine treatment of AIDS.
