Five-element theory is an early-appearing and important concept in Chinese culture history. This concept was used widely in academic interpretation and historical documentations by the ancient scholars. Thus,it also penetrates into Chinese medicine. Visceral manifestation theory share the closest connect with five-element theory in Chinese medicine,and five-element have greatly influenced the formation of visceral manifestation theory. This article briefly introduces the formation and development of five-element theory in Qin-Han Dynasty,and explores the influence of five-element theory on the formation of visceral manifestation theory.
