An Empirical Study of Validity of " Integrated Business English" Achievement Test

商务英语专业作为一种全新的具有外国语言学与经济管理学交叉性质的复合学科专业,它的人才培养模式与测试模式一直都在探索之中。《高等学校商务英语专业教学要求》与《商务英语专业考试大纲》对商务英语专业学生不同阶段应具备的能力提出了相应的要求。文章以湖北理工学院外国语学院首届商务英语本科专业学生"综合商务英语"课程考试成绩作为研究依据,分析该课程考试效度,整理出该课程能力考查范围,对比商务英语专业四级测试要求,探讨提升商务英语专业基础课程考试质量的方法,以期为商务英语专业课程建设提供参考。

Integrating Economics, Management and Foreign Language Studies, Business English BA program is set up as a complement to the traditional English BA program. As a new program, many aspects such as the talent cultivation mode and assessment mode need to be explored. The Teaching Requirements of Business English Program in Colleges and Universities and Test Syllabus for Business English Majors set the require- ments of competence for the Business English Majors in different stages. This paper analyzes the validity of Integrated Business English Achievement Test for the first Group of Business English Majors in Hubei Poly- technic University. Based on the data, the scope of ability testing for this course is analyzed. Comparing it with the requirements of Test for Business English Majors Band 4, the approaches for improving the test quality for the basic courses in Business English Program are discussed, aiming to provide some suggestions for further improvement of Business English Program.
