Translation of Culture- loaded Words in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the Perspective of Functionalist Approaches

许多中医词汇包涵丰富的文化信息,由于语言、文化和中西医理念的差异,翻译这些中医文化词汇并非易事。应用功能翻译理论,探讨了具有中国文化特点的中医文化负载词的翻译问题,并结合实例总结出一些有效可行的翻译方法和技巧,有利于提高翻译质量,促进中医交流和推广。

Many terms of traditional Chinese medicine contain rich cultural information. It is difficult to translate these words due to the great barriers in the aspects of language and culture as well as the difference between western medicine and traditional Chinese medicine. The paper uses functionalist approaches to discuss the translation of culture -loaded words with Chinese characteristics in traditional Chinese medicine and summarizes some available methods and skills from the examples to improve the term translation and facilitate the exchange and communication of traditional Chinese medicine.
