Mctabolomics is a kind of technology studying the variation of metabolites in biological systems under stimulations or disturbances which come from the combined effects of gene regulation,protein functions, and systematic metabolism. Recently, metabolomics has become an important -ornics technology in life science,mainly used in the areas of drug toxicology, disease diagnosis, Chinese medicine, etc. Referring to the recent literatures from both home and abroad, the latest advances in sample preparation, instrumental analysis techniques, data processing methods, as well as applications in current metabolomics studies are reviewed in the present paper. Furthermore, the trends and challenges in metabolomies are discussed.
