The background and features of International Mei(Prunus mume)Garden in Beijing were discussed. They involved achievements of many years' introduction and acclimatization as well as breeding for hardy Mei cultivars. The attempt to combine scientific achievements with artistic planning and designing together is the first time in International Cultivar Registration where living specimens of elite internationally registered cultivars are used for garden construction.
