Judge Dee Mysteries was published in the late 1940s.Based on Chinese detective-style fiction,combining writing tech-niques of western detective-style fiction,the writer GaoLuopei makes these mysteries inherit and develop traditional Chinese detective-style fiction.Through combination of writing models of Chinese and western detective novels,Judge Dee Mysteries enjoys a wide pres-tige over the world as it publishes.This paper explores narrative features of GaoLuopei by comparing writing models of Chinese and western detective novels.
