Public space is the carrier of the urban development. The target of the urban video surveillance systemconstruction is to maintain security of public spaces and preserve public order. According to the characteristics of theenclosure spaces, the relatively closed spaces and the open spaces, the paper expounds the main points of carrying outthe anticrime work by using the video surveillance system and presents some problems to be heeded in applying thevideo surveillance technology by the police departments.
