老年前列腺增生对腹股沟疝发病的影响

Impact of benign prostate hyperplasia on the inguinal hernia formation

目的通过对腹股沟疝手术患者的老年前列腺增生症(BPH)相关指标的分析,探讨老年男性BPH对腹股沟疝发病的影响。方法对2010年1月至2013年12月中的368例腹股沟疝手术老年患者(观察组)和同期外科入院择期手术治疗的203例其他老年患者(对照组),术前行国际前列腺症状评分(IPSS)、B超测定前列腺体积以及B超测定残余尿量检查判断BPH程度。比较两组三项前列腺增生相关指标的差异。结果观察组的IPSS评分、B超测定前列腺体积与对照组比较,具有显著性差异(P<0.000 1和P=0.000 4),且各年龄段在对照组和观察组均有显著性差异(P<0.05)。观察组的残余尿量与对照组比较则无显著性差异(P=0.161 4)。结论 BPH导致的排尿困难可能是老年男性腹股沟疝发病的重要原因,对腹股沟疝的老年患者应常规进行前列腺增生程度项目的检查。

Objective To explore the impact of benign prostate hyperplasia on inguinal hernia formation in elder men. Methods Three routine preoperative examinations were conducted to determine the extent of prostate hypcrplasia in 368 elderly patients to receive inguinal hernia surgery （experimental group） and another 203 elderly patients to undergo other nonemergency surgeries （control group） during Jan. 2010 and Dec. 2013. Results There were statistical differences in IPSS and prostate size between the two groups （P〈0. 000 ） and P= 0. 000 4, respectively）. In addition, there were significant differences in IPSS and prostate size among different age groups between the two groups （all P〈 0. 05）. However, there was no significant difference in residual urine between the two groups （P= 0. 1614）. Conclusion Voiding difficulty caused by benign prostate hyperplasia is a significant reason for elderly male patients to develop inguinal hernia. Routine prostate examination is important for elderly male patients with inguinal hernia.
