The basic concept of BIM and the differences between traditional two-dimension design and BIM are introduced in this essay The detail method of harbor electrical design using BIM is presented and it changes the whole process of traditional engineering design. Apart from that the advantages and disadvantages of BIM and the development of BIM are summarized in the last part.
