Unbridled--On Shiying Zhao's new paintings

赵士英。1938年生于山东烟台，1960年毕业于北京艺术师范学院美术系油画班，中国舞蹈家协会《舞蹈》杂志美术编审，享受国务院授予的政府特殊津贴专家，第八、九、十届全国政协委员，中国民盟中央文化委员会委员，现任清华大学吴冠中艺术研究中心副主任，中国国际友人研究会书画院顾问．中国美术家协会会员。

Shiying Zhao is a painter who came from Yantai.In his first lesson in Beijing Art Institute in 1955 he learned to have individuality and establish his unique style based on success.Shiying Zhao's mind of painting was like Guanzhong Wu,his teacher.He paid more attention to the form than the model and treated the target of painting as the incentive of emotions to inspire aspirations in heart.When the feelings were revealed in the painting,he would stop without attention to the deficiencies of the painting.Therefore his paintings feature outbreak.It is strange that the appreciators also dance with the emotions in the paintings without attention to the deficiencies that some would regard them as.Perhaps this is the power of the form itself and cannot be achieved by the theme paintings which function as illustration and instruction.The free individuality in Shiying Zhao's paintings is unbridled and somewhat with an air of self-importance.I think this is a creating mentality required for art.Shiying Zhao can easily master it,which shows he is already on the way of maturity.All in all,paintings are the imprints of the painters' artistic thoughts.At the sight of the flora oil paintings,you will know Shiying Zhao's artistic thoughts never stopped.
