Coast Defense in Ming Dynasty and The Art of War

明代统治者迫于倭寇的连连进逼,不得不大力发展水军,建立起较为严密的海防体系,并借鉴《孙子兵法》等兵学经典,研究和发展海防战略战术。虽说其间多有波折,并不能保持首尾一贯,但受此刺激应运而生的海防战略战术等,无疑极大丰富了我国古典兵学思想宝库。

Facing the threat of the Japanese pirates’ continuous invasion ,Ming Dynasty was obliged to develop its water army ,built relatively tight coast defense system ,and used The Art of War for reference to study and de‐velop the strategies of coast defense .Although the process experienced many twists and turns and could ’t keep con‐sistent from the beginning to the end ,the coast defense strategies which were stimulated by the Japanese intruders at that time ,undoubtedly greatly enriched the thought treasure house of Chinese classical military sciences .
