Spray interval is an important technical parameter for construction of heavy-duty coating, including the maximal and minimal spray intervals. In the paper, the factors affecting spray interval were discussed from aspects of coating formulation, spraying technology, environment, and workers＇ operation. Some engineering cases involving coating quality problems due to failure to comply with the stipulated spray interval during re-coating procedure were analyzed. It was presented that to grasp spray interval is necessary and important.
