新四军办事机构的设立,是国共第二次合作的产物,主要承担宣传抗日、开展统战工作、推动群众性抗日救亡运动、联络友军、采购和转运物资、掩护中共地方组织的活动等主要任务,在中国共产党历史上和人民军队史上有着十分特殊但又极其重要的地位。

The establishment of New Fourth Army＇s administrative office is the product of the second coop- eration between Kuomintang and CPC. It mainly undertakes the task such as advocating anti-Japanese prop- aganda of CPC and the united front work,promoting the mass campaign of anti-Japanese war,keeping contact with the friendly troops, supporting the procurement, transshipment munitions and the activities of the local party organizations. It has a special and important position in the history of CPC and the people＇s army.
