西德威尔友谊学校是美国精英学校的代表,其高中课程方案中,英语、数学、科学等核心课程体现了关注高深知识的理性主义价值取向,以历史为核心的人文课程体现了文化基础主义价值取向,神学和伦理学理论主导下的独立课程和实践课程不仅体现了实现自我、拯救人类的学校教育目标,还揭示出学生的实践和体验是课程实施的必由之路。对西德威尔高中课程方案的分析,不仅为英才培养提供了可参考经验,还引发人们重新思考在教育均衡化政策环境下,精英教育的价值和意义。
Sidwell Friends School is one of the best elite private schools in America, Making English, mathe- matics and science as its core courses reflect the rationalist curriculum orientation which regards the profound knowledge as the most valuable. History series courses served as the basis of civic culture values. Independent course and social services show the proposition of theology and ethnics on the school education aims, and the strategy to fulfill the aim. The analysis of Sidwell's curriculum provides reference and rethinking of elite education in the present overwhelming atmosphere of equalization policies in China.
