老虎须为蒟蒻薯科蒟蒻薯属多年生草本植物,分布于南亚和东南亚,是集观赏和药用为一体的珍稀植物。我国从20世纪60年代开始老虎须的引种驯化研究,在此简要介绍了老虎须在引种驯化、遗传多样性、繁殖和栽培、花期调控和采后保鲜、药用价值和育种等方面的研究进展。

Tacca chantrieri Andre is a perennial herb in Tacca J. R. Forster ＆ G. Forster of Taecaceae, which distributes in south and southeast Asia. It is a rare plant for both ornament and medicine. Its introduction and domestication began at 1960s in China. This paper made a brief introduction on the research and development of introduction and domestication, genetic diversity, cultivation and propagation, flower- ing regulation and post-harvest, medicinal value and breeding in T. chantrieri Andre.
