Luoyang, a city in central China＇s Henan Province, has a history that dates back nearly 4,000 years. The city＇s name originates from the city＇s location -- on the north, or sunny （yang）, side of the Luo River. The city served as the capital of 13 dynasties, including the Eastern Zhou Dynasty （770-256 BC）. the Eastenl Han Dynasty （25-220） and the Western Jin Dynasty （265-316）.
