In this paper, according to the operation of domestic and foreign composite insulator failure statistics, this paper analyzes the characteristics of the composite insulator malfunction. On the basis of this discussion, operation maintenance means of composite insulator is explored to provide some basis for improving the reliability of composite insulator.
