The Industrial Architecture of Mingyuan Electric Light Company in Modern Anhui Province

芜湖明远电灯公司是安徽近代电力工业之始,该公司曾于1908年和1926年两次建造发电房,其发电房是安徽近代最早的钢筋混凝土框架结构厂房。通过对明远电灯公司工业建筑的研究,探讨安徽近代建筑在建筑技术方面的近代化过程及其表现。

Mingyuan Electric Light Company in Wuhu City of Anhui Province ushered in the modern electric industry in Anhui Province. The company had constructed the power-generating houses in 1908 and 1926 respectively. The power-generating houses are the earliest reinforced concrete workhouses in framed construction. Through the study on the industrial architecture of Mingyuan Electric Light Company, this paper tends to discuss the modernization process and its manifestations of modern architecture in Anhui Povince in terms of construction technology.
