摘要
欧阳心农作为华人《道德经》英译第三人,很少被人提及。他的家庭信息不详、受教育信息罕见,而他的文化交流经历亦散落于各种史料之中。作为中西文化交流的理想主义者,欧阳心农曾尝试在政府任职、参加太平洋国际学会会议、撰写诗歌等各种途径来促进中西文化交流,但结果都不甚理想。之后,他以这些经历为铺垫全身心地投入了《道德经》的译介之中。通过对相关史料进行抽丝剥茧似的梳理,释解欧阳心农《道德经》的具体翻译行为,为当前的中西文化交流提供借鉴。
As the 3rd Chinese who published overseas the English translation of Dao De Jing, Au-Young Sum Nung's family information and education information is rarely mentioned, and his cultural exchange experience is also scattered in all kinds of writings. As the Chinese and Western cultural exchange idealist Au-Young Sum Nung attempted in a variety of ways to promote the exchange of Chinese and Western culture by working in the government, participating in the Pacific International Conference and writing poetry, but the results turn out to be futile. Later, based on this experience he devoted himself to the new exploration by translating Dao De Jing. Through the careful combing of relevant historical records together with the interpretation of Au-Young Sum Nung's distinctive translation behavior, it will provide a reference for the cultural exchange between China and the west.
