Taking Essays' on Han Yu's Poems —— New Contributions of Fang Dongshu's Researching on Han Yu's Poems

历代学者多以"以文为诗"评论韩愈诗歌,但从未有人以文论诗。清人方东树的诗论受桐城派前辈影响,以古文家的眼光论诗,其《昭昧詹言》是桐城派诗学的集大成之作。方氏以文论诗,最突出的是他非常看重韩诗,以杜、韩并称。并从尊杜扬韩,根柢儒学;重实轻虚,立言救时,关注社会生活;喜清奇生新,反对陈言熟意,以文论韩诗等方面对韩诗进行了全面的分析和论述。

Most of the scholars always researched on Han Yu＇s poems taking prose as poem, but nobody researched on Han Yu＇s poems taking essays＇ on poems. Fang Dongshu＇s poetic theory in Qing Dynasty was influenced by Tongcheng School predecessors, treating poems as prose masters. His Zhaomei-zhan-yan was the collective work on poetics of Tongcheng School. The outstanding achievements of Fang Dongshu were laid equal stress on the poems of Du Fu and Han Yu. He rooted of Confucian studies; emphasized substantial rather than insubstantial scene, established ideas in writing of rescue the times; paid attention to social life; preferred clean and fantastic; involved abstruse style against platitude; took essays＇ on Han Yu＇s poems.
