The paper expounds the roof failure mode of composite roof roadway and supporting principle, and the points of attention in the construction, and further put forward the active support surrounding rock theory that uses the high strength bolt to limit the deformation of surrounding rock,. The application of pre-stressed anchor cable can improve the support of the roof, and hang the poor stability of the composite roof on the top of the roof of the good stability of the rock.
