TCM master ZHOU Zhong-ying's experience in differentiating and treating lung cancer

周仲瑛教授经过多年的临证与研究,认为肺癌的主要病机在于痰瘀郁肺,毒耗气阴,痰瘀郁毒为其主要的病理因素,正虚以气阴两虚为主,早期病位在肺,后期病及五脏,治疗大法为消癌解毒、化痰消瘀、益气养阴。

Professor ZHOU Zhong-ying has reached a conclusion that the main pathogenesis of lung cancer is phlegm stasis stagnated in the lung and toxicity injuring qi and yin based on the years of clinical researches. He considers that the main pathological factors are phlegm, stasis, depression and toxicity, and vital qi deficiency mainly refers to deficiency of both qi and yin. In the early stage, the location of lung cancer is lung, and spreads to five zang viscera in the later stage. The therapeutic principle for this disease mainly are resolving carcinoma and removing toxicity, dissipating phlegm and eliminating blood stasis, and benei ting qi and nourishing yin.
