中文小说英译研究若干问题

Problems in Current Studies of Translating Chinese Fictions into English

近年来,学界对中国文学英译活动进行了不少有益的探索,但在研究角度、涉及广度和分析深度方面仍需拓展。本文从中文小说英译的研究现状分析出发,提出3个需要着重探讨解决的问题:1)英译书目编纂有待完善;2)个案研究缺乏相互联系与比较;3)译本传播机制尚需探明。对这3个课题的探讨,将有助于理解中国文学"走向世界"的历史语境和受容过程。

In recent years,more efforts have been given to the study of translating Chinese literature into English,but diversified perspectives,wider coverage,and in-depth studies are yet to be expected. This paper reviews the existing studies of translating Chinese fictions into English,and points out three prominent problems: 1) current bibliographies are not commensurate with growing research needs; 2) case studies lack comparative analysis; and 3) there is much room for research regarding the transmission mechanism of these translations. To address these problems is conducive to understanding the historical contexts and reception process of Chinese literature'going global'.
