灵魂之根的追寻与隐喻——论严歌苓长篇小说《陆犯焉识》

In recent years,the creative works of the North American new immigrant writer Yan Geling turned to a more in-depth exploration of humanity. She gradually begins to pay close attention to human nature or inspires the inner drive of a potential human nature,to reveal the home culture which is highly dependent on Chinese immigrant groups. This spirit has become a necessity to live.'Family'and'love'is the two major focus in the novel The Criminal Lu Yanshi of Yan Geling. In pursuit of 'freedom'through them into a common thread. It rests on the characters of concrete be-havior of 'run away-return'. With misplaced life experience and the special times,people's pursuit is not only the desire for real materials,but also the inner freedom struggle. It is also embodied in mapping the writer's intention. This article witnesses the writer to look back and discrete gesture,digging the soul of humanity, thus construct a their-own-spiritual home. The writer gives 'roots'of the soul a new connotation as a great metaphor in immigrant culture.
