《历代名画记》是中国绘画史上的一部重要著作。张彦远撰著《历代名画记》的目的是为"好事者"鉴玩收藏历代名画提供全面指导,这一撰旨不仅决定了《历代名画记》的丰富内容和完备体系,也决定了它不是通史著作,而是一部鉴藏学论著。
Famous Paintings in the History is an important work in the Chinese painting history. The author aimed to provide overall guidance for the 'painting collector' to collect ancient paintings,the purpose was not only determine the its rich content and perfect system,butalsodecided thatitisnota generalhistorybook,buta theoryforlearning and collection.
