摘要
莎剧中的颜色词除了表示色彩外,还用于描写抽象事物,形成颜色词的隐喻;这些颜色词隐喻的表达方式在语言层面直接体现为明喻、暗喻等修辞格。本研究以莎士比亚四大悲剧和四大喜剧中的颜色词为研究对象,从隐喻认知的视角探讨基本颜色词与变体颜色词的修辞,发现概念隐喻理论对解释颜色词的隐喻认知有一定的局限性;提出修辞格是颜色词隐喻认知的必经阶段,隐喻认知与修辞格之间存在一种互为表里的关系。
Besides indicating colors,the color terms in Shakespeare's plays are used to describe abstract things with the aid of rhetorical devices,usually in the form of metaphor. Taking color terms in Shakespeare's plays as research objects,this paper explores the rhetorical usage of the basic color terms and non-basic color terms from the metaphorical cognitive perspective.The findings of this study are as follows: Conceptual Metaphor Theory has certain limitation in explaining metaphors of color terms; "rhetoric"is an inevitable stage of color terms' cognition,and metaphorical cognition and rhetoric are indispensable to each other.
