Electronic games have been taken as the ninth form of art and protected by the law in the United States. Whether the electronic game is a form of art or just a form of entertainment remains a controversial issue in China. It has taken too much of our time to reach a consensus before we can develop its value. The uniqueness of electronic games is the visualization of their players' interactive experience, which is quite different from the other form of art. In recent years, several independent game companies have opened new channels of distribution in a joint effort to break through the monopoly of a few gigantic electronic entertainment corporations which had dominated the market, and to provide electronic games with a barrier-free environment for its growth. A new era for electronic games is coming, for the workshops of the new community of players have integrated the producers and consumers for a new subject of free-imagination.
