With the further deepening of economic globalization, China and the world become increasingly close. English as an international common language is drawing more and more attention, Universities as a training base of English talent, is also getting more and more attention. But there are still many problems that can not be ignored in college English teaching. Therefore, to promote the smooth development of college English teaching and training of qualified personnel in English, English reform must be implemented based on the development needs and student characteristics. Firstly, the paper analyzes the entry point of the college English teaching reform based on its nature and expansion and further explores the path to college English teaching reform, namely updating teaching concepts, using diverse teaching models, adopting a unified evaluation criterion, innovating test content and form, and applying modern teaching equipment. We are hoping to promote the further development of college English teaching.
