In April through August 2013, Guizhou Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology and other institutions conducted rescue excavation to a large-sized stone-chamber tomb located in the inundated area of the Zhongqiao Reservoir at Xinpu District, Zunyi City. It is a rectangular stone-chamber tomb with three chambers built abreast. The unearthed epitaph showed that this was the joint tomb of the couple of Yang Keng, the 21st generation of the tusi of the Bozhou Prefecture of the Ming Dynasty. The tomb had been severely disturbed before excavation, but the structure was well kept and the mounted figurines were intact preserved with vivid manners. The discovery of this tomb enriched the sequence of the burials of the tusi of the Yang Family of the Bozhou Prefecture and provided new materials for the understandings to the funeral systems of that period. The relevant records in the unearthed epitaph provided new clues for the studies on the history of the tusi of the Yang Family in Bozhou and their relationship with other tusi in the peripheral areas.
