明代中期,北方诗坛主要是"台阁体",江南诗人又表现出另外一种创作风格,潜移默化地影响着全国的诗坛。在此背景下,李梦阳能带头掀起一场声势浩大的文学复古运动,除了他具有的文学才华及胆识外,他出生并早年生活过的西北边陲的独特地域文化,无疑对他的思想起了重要的熏染和影响作用。诗歌充满西北地域色彩以及北方作品所具有的雄健朴厚风格,使李梦阳成为明中期诗坛的领袖。

The ethos of poetry was dominated mainly by ＂Tai-ge＂ style in the north in the middle of the Ming dynasty, whereas another writing style in the south influenced subtly the country＇s poetic circle. In this context, Li Mengyang opened and led a great literature movement which aimed at restoring ancient writing styles. Apart from his literary talent and courage, Li Mengyang＇s early experiences in northwest China played an important role in his ideas. Li Mengyan＇s poetry was full of the northwest regional culture and the powerful forthright style prevalent in the north, which serves to make him the leader of poetic circles in the middle of the Ming Dynasty.
