On the Contribution of Taiping Revolution to the Modernization of China

中国近代化指的是中国由传统社会向近代社会的演变进化。太平天国作为近代中国反封建反侵略的农民阶级革命,对中国近代化的贡献主要表现在三个方面:一是提出并初步实施了近代中国第一个系统完整的近代化方案;二是开启和推进了太平天国与中国军事的近代化;三是刺激并推动了晚清和中国近代化的启动及进程。然因种种原因其并未能产生太大的历史影响,因其本身并不足以成为中国近代化启动的标志,不过却成为后来中国近代化启动的酝酿阶段。

China＇s modernization refers to the evolution from traditional society to modern society. As a anti -feudal and anti - aggression peasant class revolution, the contribution of Taiping Revolution to the modernization of China mainly embodies three aspects： First, it put forward and implemented the first modernization scheme with unabridged system preliminarily in modern China. Second, it unsealed and propelled the modernization of Taiping Revolution and Chinese military affairs. Third, it stimulated and pushed forward the boot -up and process of the late Qing Dynasty and the modernization of China. However, it didnt make great historical influence because of many reasons. Howev- er, Taiping Revolution itself alone wasnt enough to become the symbol of the start - up of Chinese modernization, but it became the important historical background and gestation period of the latter.
