肩负着郑重而又光荣的北上调敌、宣传抗日的任务,中国工农红军北上抗日先遣队1934年7月6日从红都瑞金誓师北上,前后历时6个多月,行程5600多里,转战闽浙皖赣四省几十个县的广大地区。先遣队虽然在敌强我弱极端不利的条件下失败了,但先遣队血战东南半壁,有效调动敌人、分散敌人、钳制和拖住敌人,策应了中央苏区第五次反"围剿"斗争和尔后进行的战略大转移;同时宣传了我党的抗日救国主张,扩大了党和红军的政治影响,推动了抗日民主运动的发展。
