A Study on the Literary Thought of Xu Xuan

徐铉作为五代入宋的著名文人,其文学思想体现出重视儒家教化作用、重视艺术性以及崇尚新奇等倾向,在当时十分具有代表性。徐铉的文学思想虽然具有个人以及时代的局限性,但是对五代文学弊病的改革、宋代文学新风尚的开启起到了不可替代的作用。

Xu Xuan is a famous writer in the Five Dynasties and the early years of North Song Dynasty. His literary thought laid emphasis on the function of moral education, which was very typical in his age. The innovation and limitation of Xu Xun’s literary thought exerted profound impact upon the literature of the Song Dynasty and the later writers.
