试析近二十年新加坡中国大陆新移民社团的发展

The New Development of the Associations for New Chinese Immigrants in Singapore during the Past Twenty Years

论文从新加坡人口发展状况,中国大陆新移民社团的基本情况。新移民社团的背景、特征及问题等方面,考察了新移民社团的发展、存在的问题以及二十年来新加坡中国大陆新移民的适应与融入状况。论文认为,随着新加坡人口老龄化进程及中国大陆新移民数量的增加,各种新移民社团也建立起来。其中既有大型综合性社团如华源会、天府会,也有新近成立的实体或虚拟地缘性同乡会。此外还有华新会及中国高校校友会等学缘性社团。这些团体为帮助新移民融入、构建中新经济文化交流平台做出了贡献,发挥了本地华人老社团所不能承担的社会功能,但由于过于快速的发展及非制度化运作等特征,其未来的发展也会产生一定问题,可能会经历一个整合的过程。

Drawing from the perspectives of population development in Singapore, new immigrants from the China's Mainland, the background, characteristics and issues about the new immigrants＇ associations, this paper examines the development and the existing problems of new immigrants＇ associations and proposes the way in which the new immigrants from the China's Mainland can integrate into the society in Singapore. This paper argues that various new immigrants＇ associations have been established due to the aging problem in Singapore and the increase of new immigrants from the China's Mainland, including not only the big associations such as Huayuan Hui and Tianfu Hui but also newly established associations of townsmen. There are also Huaxin Hui and university alumni associations. These associations, instead of general local associations, play an important role in assisting new immigrants＇ integration and establishing the platform for Sino -Singapore economic and cultural exchange. However, because of their rapid development and lacking of institutionalization, these associations might encounter some challenges and need adjustment and consolidation in the future.
