马来西亚华裔新生代对中国的认知——基于田野调查的分析

The Perceptions of the New Generation of Chinese Malaysian about China—— An Analysis Based on Fieldwork

论文通过对马来西亚华裔新生代对中国认知状况的实地考察,从"对中国新闻的关注""与中国互动的方式""留学目的地的选择"三个方面,探讨了海外华裔新生代对中国的认知情况。结果显示,年龄差异、教育水平的差异、代际差异以及混血与否都会影响到马来西亚华裔新生代对中国的认知;马来西亚华裔新生代与中国的互动有多种方式,但到中国大陆旅游、中国台湾旅游以及参加华社组织的中华文化活动是主要方式,其中参加华社组织的中华文化活动又是最主要的;马来西亚华裔新生代对华态度总体上是积极的,而且保持着强烈的族群认同与文化认同,但其心目中的中国形象有待进一步提升;马来西亚华裔新生代对中国的总体评价是正面的,但对中国的认识还不全面。

This article examines the new generation of overseas Chinese＇ s perceptions on China through three perspectives： their concerns of the news about China ; the ways in which they interact with China and the destinations where they choose for studying abroad. The result shows that age, educational level and blood （Chinese or mixed） are the factors that influence their perceptions on China. The major interactions between the oversea Chinese in Malaysia and China are through travelling to Mainland, Taiwan and attending activities by Chinese associations in Malaysia. In general, the new generation of Chinese Malaysian＇ s perception on China is positive and it keeps strong ethnic and cultural identities, although the China image among them needs to improve because their understanding of China is not thorough.
