A bumper harvest for opera in China:On five works presented by our national troupes as well as the PLA's General Political Department opera company

北京的金秋,歌剧舞台硕果累累。2015年国家艺术院团演出季中,文化部直属的两家歌剧院各上演了两部歌剧,我作为文化部特邀评论员观摩了这四部歌剧。中国人民解放军总政治部歌剧团是京城职业歌剧生力军之一,我也应邀观摩了他们推出的一部新歌剧。五部歌剧,除了一部为西方经典歌剧,由于今年是中国人民抗日战争暨世界反法西斯战争胜利70周年,其余四部均为抗日战争题材原创歌剧。

During the 2015 performance season,both companies under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture each presented two productions,and the People’s Liberation Army General Political Department Opera premiered a new work.Because this year marks the 70th anniversary of the victory of the antiJapanese War and anti-Fascist War,apart from one being a European classic,the other four all touched upon the topic of the anti-Japanese War.
