沙博理英译《水浒传》道教词汇传译与文化传播

The Taoist Words and Culture Transmission in Sapiro's Version of Outlaws of the Marsh

从文化传播角度对《水浒传》沙译版本中道教称谓、道教法术用语、道教设施、道教观念等词汇翻译的个案分析来研究道教思想的传播。研究表明,沙译版水浒道教词汇的翻译很少做到文化等值、语用等值、语义等值,对道教文化在英语国家传播的作用微乎其微。故就这些道教术语的翻译提出了几种翻译方法。

The paper studies the transmission of Taoism, through the translation of Taoist words in a cultural transmission perspective, such as Taoist appellation, Taoist magic arts, Taoist facilities, Taoist ideology words to study the spread of Taoist thought. The study shows that the translation of Taoist words in Outlaws of the Marsh seldom achieves culture equivalent, pragmatic equivalent and semantic equivalent. So it does little for the transmission of the Taoist culture in English-speaking countries. Therefore, several translation methods of Taoist words are put forward.
