Patron - driven acquisition （PDA） has become a direction of library＇ s resource construction development in the future. With the background of big data era this paper takes the Ohio State University library＇s Patron - driven acquisition （PDA） project as an example and describes the core value of big data thinking. It analyzes the application of the big data thinking in patron - driven acquisition （PDA） of library and tries to build a Patron - driven acquisition （PDA） model which is based on the big data thinking.
