Samuel kirk has been called "the father of special education" of the 20th century. As the official presenter of learning disabilities, he plays a very important role on the development of research into reading disabilities. He studied the causes, diagno- sis and remedial of reading disabilities, perfected the definition of reading disabilities and formed a system of diagnosis and reme- dial. He also successfully promoted the establishment of laws and service agencies about reading disabilities. He curbed the abuse of "learning disabilities", which provides a clear direction for the development of reading remedial.
