摘要
Central American countries' globalisation processes have improved macro-economic situations, as in the case of foreign debt, the same cannot be said for human development, where traditional societies have not had the capacity to respond to instruments introduced through the new knowledge society. Linked to this, tourism and services provide an opportunity to these countries because of the wealth of both their natural and cultural tourism resources. However, these developments must embrace sustainable models of tourism and to achieve this, tourism must not be presented as an end in itself, but rather as a tool for development. Here, we apply the model for integrated tourism development to the area of study (the Northern Region of Nicaragna, Las Segovias).
