A Study on the Existent Essence of Power Figure in “The Flight from the Enchanter”

艾丽丝·默多克的作品《逃离巫师》中,各人物间存在着一种逃离与控制的关系,权力人物既是权力的控制者又是其受害者。权力人物最主要是由周围人物的心理需求创造的,是他们精神生活臆想的产物。

In The Flight from the Enchanter there exists common relationship among each characters, control and flight. But all characters center around power figure who has dual quality - controller and victim. Thus it tries to induce the reason of the existence of power figure and its essence, that is： It is the other characters that create enchanter. Their psychological needs make the enchanter. Power figure is the outcome of their fantasy.
