The View of Respecting Taoism and Cherishing Confucianism for GE Hong

魏晋时期,自然与名教之间的紧张与冲突愈加明显。如何化解双方的矛盾从而符合人之精神需求,是魏晋玄学的重要主题,也是两晋时期的葛洪直面的现实任务和历史使命。他在批判玄学弊端的过程中,又吸收了玄学的思想,主张道家与儒家、自然与名教的综合与融通。他确立"道"之本体,推扬自然主义,主张"天性之慈",秉持"尊道""贵儒"之态度,彰显其尊道贵儒的价值追求。

The tensions and conflicts have become more apparent between Taoist natural and Confucian ethical code in Wei and Jin Dynasties.It is the important theme for Metaphysics to how to resolve the problems and achieve the harmony,which is the realistic tasks and historic mission for GE Hong.In the process of exposing and criticizing shortcomings about Metaphysics,GE Hong inherited and absorbed its main idea,discussed social moral issues and formed the ethical ideology based on the results of historical thought.He advocated the integration of Taoism and Confucianism,nature and ethical code.Specifically,he established the ontology of＂Tao＂,agreed with naturalism,advocated ＂kindness of natural humanity＂,stressed the status of＂Taoism as the root＂and＂Confucianism the bottom＂,which has demonstrated his value orientation of respecting for Taoism and Confucianism.
