Formulating Translator's Cognitive Psychology from the Embodied Cognition Perspective

摘要翻译过程同时是译者复杂的认知心理过程。当代认知科学的具身认知范式表明,这个心理过程表现为具身性、层次性与系统整合性特征。本文首先以多学科视角阐述具身认知范式的核心思想及其对译者认知心理研究的革新意义,然后对上述翻译认知心理特征进行阐述,并重点对译者具身认知的社会心理发展过程以及双语加工机制在具身认知视角下进行新的诠释,重在凸显译者主体经验与情感在翻译认知心理过程中的重要作用。 Translation process entails a complex psychological process of the translator. The embodied cognition para- digm of modern cognitive science has shed new light on research into this psychological process. The translator＇ s cog- nitive psychology could be described as being embodied, integrated and hierarchical. Based on the central idea of the embodied cognition paradigm, this paper explicates the features of the translator＇ s cognitive psychology with a de- tailed illustration of the two levels of the translator＇ s embodied cognitive psychology, the architecture of the transla- tor＇ s embodied socio-psychological process, and the mechanism of the translator＇ s embodied bilingual processing. This embodied formulation of the translator＇ s cognitive psychology highlights the important role of the subjective expe- rience and affect of the translator in the translation process.
