摘要
本研究运用内容依托式教学理念,基于"6T"路径为工科大学生开设大学英语拓展课程ESP工程英语。ESP工程英语教学以语言为媒介,以专业知识内容为驱动,以产品研发项目为主要任务。对252名ESP课程学习者的项目报告、产品陈述、调查问卷的定量和定性分析表明,基于"6T"路径的ESP工程英语课程设计和研发项目任务有助于学习者提高英语技能,掌握专业内容知识,由此实现ESP课程本土化开发建设的目的。
Based on the theory of Content-based Instruction, this study applies the Six-T's approach to engineering English, an ESP course for college students of engineering. In the ESP course, tasks of R&D projects are implemented to integrate English skills with engineering knowledge. The quantitative and qualitative analysis of 252 students' project reports, product presentations and questionnaires indicates that the course design and R&D projects of engineering English help the students improye English skills and acquire engineering knowledge for their future professional scenarios, thus achieving the purpose of the ESP course.
