漳州市实施"工业立市"发展战略以来,工业经济发展取得了显著成效,但是工业化与城镇化并没有形成良性互动关系,城镇化明显慢于工业化进程。推动城镇化健康发展,对优化产业结构、提高城乡居民收入、扩大消费需求、加快城镇体系建设等将产生重要影响。新时期,漳州要着力改变长期以来城镇化滞后于工业化的不利局面,在发展工业和建设城镇的同时,注重把工业化和城镇化结合进行,力争实现工业化与城镇化的协调发展。
