Appreciation of Works of Liao Xinxue Stored in Yunnan Province Museum

廖新学（1902-1958年）,云南省昆明市富民县人,是云南最早留学法国学习绘画艺术的画家之一。他是20世纪30、40年代活跃在世界艺术之都巴黎的东方艺术天才。廖新学出身贫寒,父亲早逝,由母亲做手工拉扯大的,只上过一年小学,粗识几个文字。8岁就辍学为人放牧牛羊,自幼喜爱绘画。

Liao Xinyue was one of the earliest painters in Yunan Province who went to France. He was expert in oil painting and sculpture. Since the foundation of People's Republic of China, he ever held the post of president of Yunnan Artists Association. He was also the leader in the art field in Yunnan. This article introduces various kinds of works of Liao Xinxue stored in Yunan Province Museum.
