Dry-jet wet-spinning process of PAN precursor for carbon fibers

The historical development of PAN precursor for carbon fiber was reviewed. The major stages and the technical keys of PAN dry\|jet wet\|spinning process were described. It was found that the properties of PAN precursor could be improved by controlling the foreign impurities during the course of polymerization and spinning or selecting high\|relative molecular weight PAN resin as raw material. The research achievements in the main stages, such as PAN copolymer preparation, the rheological behavior and coagulating process of spin flow, were introduced emphatically.
